I love the chemistry that is building with Girls Night Out: A Tribute To The Superstar Women of Country in our first year together. It’s fast becoming one of my favorite tribute/cover bands I’ve had the privilege of performing with. Last night at Captain’s on Long Lake in Isanti just felt so good and my long-time area fans were excited to see me in a new product (that they all loved!)
Girls Night Out features the classic female country greats including Loretta, Dolly, Patsy and Reba through to modern day hit-makers such as Carrie, Miranda, Gretchen and more. Girls Night Out is all about heart, harmonies and having a hootin and hollerin good time!
With an 8-piece band full of talent and passion–where 7 of 8 members can sing and 5 of 8 are multi-instrumentalists–I never get bored and I always have fun.
Plus, we’re building a little Girls Night Out family, and nothing says success and potential more than a family dynamic in a band. The harmonies we sing have even been described as “family harmonies,” and that is a prized compliment in the country music world.
The Minnesota State Fair is always a blast, and this year did not disappoint!! I had a fantastic day meeting the Buz’n 102.9 crew and singing with the amazing talent on Women In Country Wednesday! And of course, the fan support was amazing! Thank you – live music wouldn’t exist without you!
This was by far my favorite year performing, since I had a chance to feature my original music! I also sang a few fabulous femme group tunes with [pictured from left to right above] Karina Kern, Dayna Koehn and Erica Hanson, which was super fun! We definitely impressed the fair crowd with some beautifully improvised 4-part harmonies and creative hand percussion. I think we impressed ourselves, too! HA!
Plus (as if the day wasn’t already wonderful enough) I got to go to the fair with my Man Friend For Life (MFFL), meet country star Morgan Evans who is hanging with Lucas from Buz’n 102.9 in the picture below. His superstar lady friend Kelsea Ballerini also showed up to say hi! And THEN my amazing life-long friends (and career long super-supporters) even surprised me and hung out after the show! Thanks T, Rese, A-B, and the newest cutie, Lil’ L. Xoxo’s – Love you all! I even heard that one of their families is now obsessed with my original camp song, “Golf Cart Ride”…how cool!
Lastly, but most importantly, I’d like to send out a Very Special Thanks to Paul Thomas, Buz’n 102.9, and the Midwest Country Music Music Association for making this opportunity possible and for hosting local songwriters at the Buz’n 102.9 MN State Fair booth, on the radio, and at Midwest CMA Showcases and other local events! Your support is invaluable to our community and I appreciate you all!
Join Swanny Rose for her return to the Minnesota State Fair on Wednesday August 29th! Catch her performing her original songs at the Buz’N 102.9 booth with other local songwriters [Karina Kern Music, Erica Hanson Music, Dayna Koehn] from 6-7:30pm. Grab your food on a stick and settle in for some great local music on a stick hosted by PT (Paul Thomas) from Buz’N 102.9!
Click here for the FB Event! See you at the Great Minnesota Get-Together!
I’m pretty lucky to have the pleasure of “doing life” and writing, producing shows and performing (my favorite parts of doing life) with my equally talented husband in our duo, This Is How We Duet. Check out our version of Give Me One Reason by Tracy Chapman below.
